With a population of around 120,000 Stavanger is Norway’s fourth largest city with a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back into the middle ages. Once a tranquil coastal market town and later as an important fishing port. Visit the old town (Gamle Stavanger), the unique canning museum and the 12th century Stavanger Cathedral.
Day 4: Sognefjord
Day 5: Aalesund
Ålesund is one of the most beautiful towns in Norway. Renowned for its Jugend style architecture, art nouveau style and its very friendly inhabitants. Built on a row Islands which extend into the ocean providing stunning views of the fjords and Sunnmore Alps. The town was destroyed by fire in 1904 and rebuilt in an extravagant Art nouveau style we see today. Alesund’s layout is unique as it is built on islands stretching out into the sea with scenic views of the fjords and the Sunnmore Alps. This is the perfect destination for hikers, bird-watchers and people who appreciate natural beauty.

Day 7: Trondheim Fjord
Trondheim was Norway’s original capital city, and is a lovely historic city. It overflows with life thanks to a large student population. Cycling is the transport of choice and its wide pedestrianized streets offer a great range of cafes and restaurants, as well as some fascinating museums.
