YOUR ITINERARY
Day 1 – Southampton – Embark your ship – P&O Ventura
Day 2: At Sea
Day 3: Vigo
Vigo is set in a beautiful natural environment and its cultural scene far exceeds its size. Try the local seafood at the port, go shopping at the Rua do Príncipe, or brave the blue fire of the traditional Galacian punch drink queimada.
Day 4: Lisbon
The wonderful city of Lisbon is simply full of Neoclassical buildings and wide plazas. Famed as the port from which the ships departed on their discovery of the Americas and the New World. Lisbon’s magnificent harbour is spanned by the longest suspension bridge in Europe. Other landmarks include the World Heritage Sites of Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, both built in Lisbon’s native Manueline architectural style.
Day 5: Oporto
Built along the hillsides overlooking the mouth of the Douro river offers Oporto an outstanding landscape with a 2000-year history. Its narrow winding cobbled streets is a testament to its age. Visit the historic area of Ribera, classified as a World Heritage Site for an insight into the local history by walking through ‘a living museum’ featuring architectural contrasts, traditional cafes, beautiful buildings, bars and restaurants.
Day 6: At Sea
Day 7: St. Peter Port
St Peter Port on the Island of Guernsey, with its cobbled streets and picturesque seafront marina and historic gardens make this a pleasant and enjoyable port of call. This charming village is home to many historical buildings and attractions, Fort Grey, Martello tower with views across the stunning bay, the ship wrecked museum, castle Carey or Castle Cornet. Walks through the countryside lead you to sheltered bays and cliff tops overlooking this beautiful island.
Day 8: Southampton. Disembark your ship.
